The wild new single by heavily percussive duo Gum Takes Tooth has been given a startling remix treatment by Italian wizards Lay Llamas, who incorporate the song's rhythms into a contagious brew of African flavours and hypnotic musical colours.
The original version of 'Borrowed Lies' is taken from the forthcoming album Arrow, released 25th January.
“It concerns the small change victories and comforts our culture portions out to us to placate us and prevent action towards change - the lie of self-empowerment and paranoia is the ‘weapon offered as a gift’” says vocalist Jussi Brightmore. “It ends with a call to arms to look inward to find the weapon to overcome this”.
