Three years ago today, this extraordinary artist departed from our mortal coil. Today, we take a moment to remember the genius that was David Bowie. Since many of us are probably more than aware of the hits and acclaimed album cuts, here's another lesser-known track from his early days.
1966 saw the first single credited solely to ‘David Bowie’ in the form of ‘Do Anything You Say’. But I’m going to go for its B Side ‘Good Morning Girl’, an intriguing oddity with an upbeat be bop rhythm. The scat singing in particular is most uncharacteristic of Bowie’s familiar style. Just a couple of years into his recording career and the young David Robert Jones is already displaying some impressive musical diversity.
