Some sublime seasonal soul... William Bell was born in Memphis in 1939, and became a soul legend, known as one of the architects of the Stax-Volt sound.
As a performer, he had hits with songs like 'You Don't Miss Your Water', 'Private Number' (a duet with Judy Clay, and 1976's 'Tryin' To Love Two'. He is also highly regarded as a songwriter, co-writing tracks like 'Any Other Way', Billy Idol's 1986 hit "To Be a Lover", and the blues classic 'Born Under A Bad Sign'. In 2016, Bell reactivated the Stax Record Label to release a new album, the Grammy award-winning This Is Where I Live.
'Everyday Will Be Like A Holiday' was released as a single in 1967 on the Stax label, reaching number 33 on the Billboard RnB chart. It was composed by Bell and Booker T. Jones.
