More wonderful music from 1996 as RW/FF takes you aboard a musical TARDIS on a journey through musical history. If you weren't around or were too young to remember the mid 90s, consider this a lesson of enlightenment. If you (like me) were lucky enough to experience it all first time around, then these posts make a fine nostalgic blast from the blast.
Led by Irish songwriter Neil Hannon, The Divine Comedy scored a Top 10 UK chart position with their new album 'Foreverland'. Sadly, I'm not very keen on the new LP at all, and haven't really found anything on it that's worthy of a Track Of The Day. However, their fourth album 'Casanova' is another record that was released in 1996. And this classic single helped the album become the band's commercial breakthrough. 'Something for the Weekend' reached number 13 in the UK singles charts.
