Here's another superb selection from the 'Joe Gibbs Productions' compilation, which was released back in 2003.
Searing vibes, booming dub bass and some tasty, reverb dipped percussion, this is some masterful stuff indeed.
Since it comes from Gibbs himself (and his band The Professionals), it can also be found on his 1978 album 'African Dub All Mighty - Chapter Three'.
Joe Gibbs was a renowned and hugely influential reggae producer, who was born in 1942 and scored a number of landmark hits in the 1970s. He had success with roots reggae, rockers, lovers rock and Dub music artists including: Dennis Brown, Jacob Miller, Sylford Walker, The Mighty Diamonds, Gregory Isaacs, Prince Alla and Junior Byles. Gibbs died of a heart attack in February 2008 and is survived by his twelve children.
