The New York-based punk/lo-fi four piece Parquet Courts release their second album 'Sunbathing Animal' next week (June 2) via the What's Your Rupture label. After their 2012 debut 'Light Up Gold' and last year's superb 'Tally All The Things That You Broke' EP gained massive acclaim in both the DIY underground and mainstream rock press, this new one looks like it could take the band to a new level. From it, and showing a slightly softer side to the Parquet Courts sound, here's the rather lovely 'Instant Disassembly'. You can hear all sorts of thinfgs in there: Television, a bit of Pavement and a large dose of The Velvet Underground. Here we get bright guitar lines, a lazed rhythm and a melody that digs in deeper with each repetition, making every one of its seven minites a pleasure. Terrific stuff.
