ALBUM: The Supernaturals - A Tune A Day (1998)

Released 20 years ago today on 17 August 1998.

'A Tune A Day' is a rather brilliant indie pop album by the Glasgow band The Supernaturals. It was their second full length, and the follow up to their hit adebut 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore'. Highlights include the superb single 'I Wasn't Built To Get Up', 'Sheffield Song' and 'Motorcycle Parts', all songs with a humourous bite to the lyrics and terrific singalong melodies. While I used to cringe at the closing 'Everest', I now love it for its spoofing of ridiculous, straining power ballads. I went to see this lot at The Fleece in Bristol during the week of ts release. The band were supported at that enjoyable gig by Carrie.
