The legendary American duo Sparks have been busy with various different projects lately. Not only are they planning to play their classic 'Kimono My House' LP in full at two shows later this year, as well as a collaborative album with Franz Ferdinand (what the fuck is that going to sound like?) AND plans to turn their 'The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman' musical into a movie, but have also contributed a track to Beck's 'Song Reader' album. The album finds a diverse array of artists playing their interpretations of the sheet music material that Beck released in a book back in 2012. Complete with a superb vocal arrangement, the Mael brothers set 'Why Did You Make Me Care' to intense chamber music dramatics, with the occasional blast of harsh electro keys. Great stuff. I went to see Sparks live for the first time last year in Bristol. HERE is my gig review.
