FINGERSNAP are a duo made up of the legendary David McAlmont and Guy Davies. After plenty of talk about their new project they have finally unleashed their debut 'The Smokehouse EP' via their Reverbnation page. 'I Wanna Rise' with its relaxed electric guitar and sweet strings has a bright strutting vibe which recalls Stevie Wonder at his peak, and the beautiful breeze of 'Some Kind Of A Masterpiece' is similarly captivating. 'Mister' has a rhythm slightly reminiscent of The Cure's 'Close To Me' and gives a powerful account of a young boy seeing his mother suffer from domestic abuse. The closing 'The Bishop Of New Hampshire' is a brilliant anti-war statement which also brings a soulfully charming vocal coda. Keep an eye on this blog for more music from Fingersnap in the future as I'm sure I'll be featuring more of this wonderful band...
