the Grandaddy, spearmint, at the drive in and richard ashcroft tracks didn't sound that great anymore and had to go. the foo fighters tracks were released as singles in 2000 but were actually from a 1999 album, so they were moved to the '99 compilation. The Green Day tracks didn't really fit in with the rest of this compilation so instead they will appear on 'The Best Of Punk: 2000', a compilation i'll be making soon. And instead of the two Primal Scream tracks i decided to replace them with 'Accelerator' from the same album, a mighty track that has stood the test of time a lot better. Same reason why i've removed the two Bluetones tracks, they sounded great ten years ago but rubbish now. Unlike 'Mudslide' from the same album, which i used to think was boring and i now think is a stand out track, which is why it replaces 'Slack Jaw' and 'Autophilia'. Also Queens Of The Stone Age's 'Feelgood Hit...' doesn't sound anywhere near as good as 'The Lost Art Of Keeping A Secret' or 'Monsters In Your Parasol', so the appropriate alterations have been made. The two Embrace tracks sound rather poor now, so they've been replaced with 'The Love It Takes', which 10 years on sounds great.

Two key tracks which for some reason i forgot to include on the original 2000 tape, the Manics 'Masses Against The Classes', which was the first UK number one single of the 21st century (and there hasn't been a better number one since) and Blur's 'Music Is My Radar', the last Blur track to feature Graham Coxon until 2010. Two fantastic songs that i assume i must have forgot were from 2000 when i compiled the tape a decade ago. The rest of the tracks were added because they all sound better now than they did a decade ago.
