This classic Clinic track was released 20 years ago in 1998. To my knowledge this was the first Clinic song I ever heard, after catching it on John Peel's show or The Evening Session, not entirely sure which one. 15 years later it still sounds like one hell of a tune. Still a great band now in fact, as 2012's 'Free Range' proved. I never owned a copy of 'Monkey On Your Back' at the time, but last years ago, I managed to pick up a copy of the 'Clinic' CD that collects the tracks from the band's first 3 EPs, for a bargain £1 from a charity shop in Swindon. What a find. Must go and see Clinic live again sometime, since it's been 18 years since the last time, at Leeds festival.
