NEWS: Dodgy confirm special Northern Soul gig and exclusive 7" single

DODGY are going to be hosting a Northern Soul-themed all-nighter (well not quite all night) which will also see the launch of a BRAND NEW 7" single featuring an exclusive new track and a cover of the Northern Soul classic 'Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)', which they have playing at recent summer shows. The special event will take place at The Rose Club (formally Monaco Ballroom), in Hindley, Wigan on Saturday 20th October 2012 from 7:00pm till 2:00am.

A year after hosting the unique (and now famous) Dine With Dodgy event at Hugh Fearnley-Wittingstall’s River Cottage, we decided it was high time for another special event! Fancy it? Good!

This time we're paying homage to the Northern Soul movement, which has been an integral part of the fabric of Dodgy, since our early days. We're taking this brilliant live event to WIGAN! Right into the heart of the still-vibrant Northern Soul community. We can't wait!

So, we have invited Wigan DJs from the 45 Carat Soul Club to play astounding “All Vinyl, No Bootleg” Nothern Soul floor-filler sets! In addition, we will be joined by a new generation of believers, determined to “keep the faith” - the Wigan Young Souls, who feature as dancers in the upcoming Elaine Constantine film, Northern Soul (featuring Steve Coogan and Lisa Stansfield), will be joining us too!

All this will happen at the legendary Monaco Ballroom, the venue where the original dancers moved on to in the early 70’s, when the Wigan Casino got too packed out.

DODGY have tapped into their current, critically-acclaimed creative streak, and headed into the studio to record a brand new Northern Soul inspired track, as well as a cover of the classic “Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)”, a firm favourite at their recent live shows.

These will be available on just 300 COPIES of limited edition 7” vinyl *

The evening promises a heart-stopping set list by DODGY, featuring a collection of rarities from the back catalogue, some of which have not been played live for nearly 20 years. Plus classics and favourites, to add even more reason to come along this very VERY special night.
