REWIND: Rancid - 'It's Quite Alright'

With barely a pause for breath all the way through, Rancid's fifth album 'Rancid' was their second self-titled LP and was released in 2000. Probably as a reaction to 1998's diverse, ska flavoured effort 'Life Won't Wait', this album is still the band's most hardcore offering to date, a trailblazer that fits 22 songs into less than 40 minutes. Mixing fury and their rabid energy with a touch of emotion and a top notch melody, 'It's Quite Alright' finds Tim Armstrong and co in fierce, startling form. Following 2009's disappointing 'Let The Dominoes Fall', the California punk legends have been busy recording their eighth album which is titled 'Honor Is All We Know' and rumoured to be released on June 10, according to some online retailers (although no official announcement from the band has been made).
