Since October is going quick, and November is coming in a couple of weeks, I thought it would be appropriate to feature a selection of autumnal treasures, beginning with this one. Not necessarily a song about autumn, but a key track from an album that I listened to a lot of during the Autumn of 1999, despite the fact that it was released a few months earlier in June... The song is taken from the classic 'The Soft Bulletin', the ninth album from The Flaming Lips. It was released to wide critical acclaim (NME's album of the year I think?) and according to Wikipedia was "hailed by critics as a departure from their previous guitar-heavy alternative rock sound, into a more layered and intricately arranged work."
