PREVIEW: Northern Uproar - Coming Around:Live And Acoustic 17.02.12

So as mentioned before HERE, HERE and HERE, Manchester Britpop legends Northern Uproar are releasing a live acoustic album in a matter of days. After launching a PledgeMusic campaign last year, fans funded the album in return for signed CDs, photos and other rare Northern Uproar goodies. The band recorded the show live at a Manchester venue on February 17th 2012, and the resulting tracks have now been mixed and are due to be released this Friday (6th April 2012) as a download album. You can still get hold of the album and other Northern Uproar stuff by going to the PledgeMusic campaign page at http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/northernuproar-acoustic

The album will include:

Rough boy
Girl i once knew
Coming Around
Memories
Soldier boy
Goodbye
See the world in your own way
Moods
Don't bring me down
Livin' it up
There is a place
Nothing you can do
Anyway you look
Town
Breaking the Ice

A few months ago on their Facebook page the band wrote:

The band with Noel G back in the day...

"The great news is we’ve been writing a lot ! we can’t help it !.. Jeff always has a riff and Leon always seems to have a melody... We are getting ready to record what will be our 4th Album in 2012 and are looking forward to working with the wonderful people at PledgeMusic to bring the album plus lots more to you...
But first, as a thank you to friends and fans, and because it’ll be a lot of fun , we’re going to make a live acoustic album... We’ve been asked about doing this for years and now seems like a good time .

A great part of the PledgeMusic thing is that we get to help a Charity by donating part of the money raised – we’ve chosen Macmillan Cancer Support as it’s obviously such a great cause and something that effects us all .

Love
NU"

"Hey Everyone

The gig went great , was sold out ! thanks to everyone who came , it was a great atmosphere with fans traveling from all over the country and even as far as Norway to be there. Was really good to see lots of all old friends and to make a few new ones. And there was loads more we wanted to do ! A few of which we recorded at the sound check, of course no gig is complete without a couple of stage invasions, so thanks to the nutters who put the cherry on the cake .

Some more thanks - All our Friends and Family, Kev Kay for his help and support for pretty much 20 years , Karin Albinsson for the same and for her amazing images, Dave Haunch for providing security on the night and keeping us all safe, Chris @ Toast recordings for the sound and recording, Racheal Richards for PR, the People at Pledge Music for the great support and advice, EVERYONE who has pledged, you made it happen ! and everyone who has supported the band over the years ..

By the way if you haven't but want to, you can still Pledge today here: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/northernuproar-acoustic

It's good to be back. Up the 'Roar. Viva ze revolution!!"
