Radio - MrScott:Music - Mix#1:April/May2011

Melksham Community RadioIntroducing my new radio show....

As I've been mentioning over the last few weeks, I've been away from the world of radio for a while due to work commitments, but I am returning with a new show very soon. My hometown of Melksham has no radio station of its own, and when it comes to local FM radio they only have BBC Wiltshire (which people consider naff) and the regional version of Heart FM, which if you know anything about it, you will know is awful. So to give the people of our town a good local station, a guy called Alan Bryne is launching Melksham Community Radio, which is set to host a great variety of programming by passionate local people.

So guess where my new radio show is going to be?

Black and White That's right. But we need to raise lots of money for the license costs, bandwidth and lots of other things, including a view to eventually have the station on local FM airwaves (although there's a possibility FM will not exist soon), so it's gonna take a while till MCR is brodcasting. In the meantime I've discovered Mixcloud, a way to broadcast my radio shows complete with the music I want to bring to the people, with Mixcloud paying the PPL and PRS costs. So the show will take the form of a hour long podcast that can be listened to anytime, with occasional special shows featuring hour long non-stop mixes, the first being the one I am putting out today.

So here's MrScott:Music - Mix#1:April/May2011
